Right now, while there is a Vista ASIO driver, there is no Wave driver.

Yes, you should be able to install an M-Audio interface on the same machine as an 003, but I don't believe it's possible for PTLE and M-Powered Pro Tools to co-exist on the same computer... if that's where you're headed.

Correct me if I'm wrong guys....

I'm think of just getting a cheap m-audio interface for the asio wave driver. I know that the digidesign windows asio driver has issues of dropouts and such.. How are m-audio asio wave drivers. Because i'm tired of listening to my mp3's on my pc speakers.

You are confusing the ASIO driver with the Wave driver.
They have different purposes.
The Wave driver (playback only) is used for general Windows audio programs like Media Player, Windows system sounds, iTunes, etc...
And yes, the XP version of the Wave driver has been buggy (no Vista Wave driver yet).

The ASIO driver is a multitrack, (record and playback) full function driver only used for pro audio audio ASIO compatible applications like Cubase, Sonar, Reason, etc..

From the feedback I've heard, I believe you'll find that M-Audio hardware has more trouble free general system Wave drivers than Digi hardware.
Might want to pose your question over in the M-Powered/M-Audio section of this forum.
