Clip-based gain - does that let you change the volume of each individual region (or clips)?
Sorry i'm a bit of a noob haha I don't use ProTools as much as I should

I'm hoping this applies to crossgrades. I bought PT8LE 'normally' last year then upgraded to 9 via a student licence because, basically it cost £50 more but I got an Mbox mini into the deal.
The link for Academic Eligibility is interesting though as yes, it states "upgrades", definitely states Pro Tools is an eligible product, and makes no definition between student full/crossgrade licenses, merely licenses themselves. I'd assume that makes all crossgrade licenses count as the student license will be the one in effect.

Anyway on my Avid account it's listed as "Pro Tools 9.0 Crossgrade from LE Student". Can anyone confirm that crossgrades are also eligible for the same 4-year deal? There's certainly nothing to contradict it on that page.

EDIT: sorry just read above. Well this is mint! The first thing I bitched about was the lack of realtime fades when I moved over from Cubase for my course. That channel strip looks handy too. I was gonna say I'd rather pay for Cubase 6 since it's got way more features I want, but for free well, you can't complain at all!

i also have a student crossgrade from LE, and it should apply. My concern is why haven't they addressed this for better understanding. Like under free upgrade eligibility. It should also mention if you have a student license but it doesn't. I fear Avid will pull some crap. if anyone gets their free upgrade that has the student license please post about it and what kind of student license you have. Hell, if I see anyone getting the email i'll feel good about Avid.

Just out of curiosity when did you purchase your license of Pro Tools 9? Was it before October 20th?

I purchased the boxed version of Pro Tools 9 Academic as soon as IMSProAV had it in stock in January. I totally forget about the 4 years of free upgrades. Needless to say, I'm happy as a clam.
