Default Strange OSX cd mp3 behavior

Burned a cd a while back of one song from an mp3 and titled it the name of the song. Now whenever I put in any other cd that only has 1 mp3 of any other song on it (even when burned from a different computer) it shows up on the desktop titled the same as the original mp3 from before. Not just the cd title but when I open the cd the song is titled the same yet it plays back as the correct song that it's supposed to be. Is there a desktop pref I don't see? Already repaiedr permissions and ran DiskWarrior. Thanks for any input.

What are you using to play the CD? iTunes or something else? I believe iTunes has a cache that retains CD track information based on the ISRC code (or lack of) on that CD. Since you burned a CD without ISRC, whenever you put in another CD just like it, the cache is read because iTunes thinks it's the same.

Thanks, Eric. Makes sense. If the original song is in Itunes (which it is), does the desktop in OSX automatically refer to the cache in Itunes? The program is never open when I put in a cd and it's still titled the old song. I'm sure I originally burned it using Toast or Jam. How do I clear the cache in Itunes (or do I need to leave it alone so I don't lose any songs in the library)?
