Re: How about this?
How much of it is automatic? It seems to imply that there is a tool to remedy collision (and some other automatic tasks) but reading the features didn't leave me with the impression that this is an attempt at mix-engineer-in-a-box.

Re: How about this?
Oh boy! Dynamic eq composers can slap across their mix busses! That'll give us a few more moving targets to tackle.

Re: How about this?
It's the natural extension of their automatic loudness plugin. Don't use your ears and equipment, throw in some sounds in your NLE and then insert the new loudness tools, boom, you have a loudness corrected mix....
Well, to be honest, I haven't met any mixer worth it's its price who couldn't hit a loudness target... And now, we don't really need a mixer... To be fair, the intention is probably good, the marketing, well, that's just marketing.

Re: How about this?
If you listen to the A/B examples it seems that the plugin turns a mess into something slightly less of a mess, but still a mess --- it's not a miracle potion that can save a bad soundtrack or be a substitute for a good mix.

Re: How about this?
Hi all!
I'm Evan from iZotope, and I've seen from some forums that there has been some confusion with the details of RX Final Mix so far, so I'm jumping in to provide some clarity! RX Final Mix is a stem and bus processing plug-in built for post production that supports up to 7.1 surround and features an EQ with both Dynamic and Static functionality, and a transparent, True Peak limiter. RX Final Mix is designed to be utilized on your stem tracks, and your master bus if desired! The Dynamic EQ provides reactive, intelligent control over the frequency spectrum and allows you to transparently carve out sections of the spectrum (e.g. ensuring dialogue intelligibility by making sure SFX don't get in the way of important dialogue frequencies). It can also be used to accentuate sections of the spectrum when in Expand mode, allowing you to add more impact to effects like explosions with a dynamic low shelf, make dialogue clearer by boosting at 5kHz with a dynamic bell, etc. Again, it is reactive to the incoming signal, so it will only boost and cut when needed, rather than coloring your audio throughout your mix. I hope this provides a clearer picture of what RX Final Mix is and how it can help in your work! Best, -Evan |
