external drive access speed issues
I've just got the Transit and am for the first time trying to run a project from an external hard drive, but I'm having -9073 errors and can't play back. I've increased the buffer size, and the drive is a new firewire 7200 rpm.
Works fine if I use the internal drive, but I don't have enough space for large projects (my current project is 18gb, 16 tracks, recorded on a TDM setup, and I'm trying to do the mixing and editing on my powerbook) What can I do to enhance my setup? Would more memory help? Powerbook g4, osx 10.4.5, memory: 768. |

Re: external drive access speed issues
What brand is the firewire drive? Acom drives are known to be incompatible with Pro Tools.
Did you format the drive with the OS Disk Utility? Have you tried all the steps in the OS X Setup and General Troubleshooting thread yet? |
