Default Re: Pro Tools 12 Review

I''ve tested PT12HD yesterday and have opened some of the larger sessions (created in PT11.3.1HD) without any issues. I've then added some PI's just "for fun", incl. Exponential Audio's Excalibur (which I wanted to test anyway) and a lot of other stuff, both DSP and Native and I must admit I have not encountered any glitches. I have also started to work on a new session and all seems fine. Based on what I observed so far I think I'm going to stick with PT12HD; there's no reason to go back to 11. Granted not all the features are in the .0 (in fact most of them aren't), but I much prefer a stable 12, followed by new features being added in the next 12.x releases.

I have nothing to do with Video so I don't really care about the Video Engine in Pro Tools ... I am just happy now and trying to convince myself I am shelling all this money to have a stable version lol ... I just want to try it on my MBP and hopefully it will be fast as on my Trashcan ... Will let you know

Well until they are sued. PT12 was advertised with certain features, and they charged for it.
However, none of those features are in it.

That is false advertising,

That is hardly a quarter away. AVID is getting special treatment?

Earnings have nothing to do with it. I have 2 other countries on board.

Earnings do have to do with it ... when your company is losing you should reconsider ...

Of course. AVID hasn't posted earnings in 2 years. Why the were dlisted.

WE all have to consider our own company, however big or small. AVID needs a bottom line because they have been lying about it.

It isn't the users responsibility to keep AVID afloat. Make a good product, users come.

AVID was ticked off because the HDX upgrades were lack luster. Regardless of what they say.
Losing WAVES was big and many just went native there wasn't a big "need" for the HDX cards.

AVID charges a very large fee for HDX DSP. Which is why there are so few and lack of development.
AVID is holding onto the DSP market, hoping it will adapt but it isn't.

Long time users are bailing. That should be a sign.

I hate to day it but by the end of the year, AVID is going to be in serious trouble.

PT12 was a joke and illegally sold. They would have been better off charging a fee for PT11.5

Sorry. AVID is being directed into a hole. A class action, worldwide, isn't going to make their bottom line better. That and the lack of upgrades.

Loads of VI's here. For me PT 12 on 10.10 is definitely more stable than 11..
