Running well here. was unsure at first on the combining ground as the middle spec is for sensing. (PM'd GP a few weeks back)

(Went back to 5870 I originally swapped for a 5770)

Tom, check your PM
Was there something wrong with the 5770?
Did it not perform well?

Hi. Thanks for the reply.
I found myself in Video editing mode and the 5870 had a bit more to it. The 5770 with Pro tools and 3 monitors was never an issue.
Fortunately my partner I traded cards with after the HDX install was willing to trade back.
Thanks again and no need to reply.

Just did mine last night using same cable and splicing the HDX cable. So far all is well. We had tried a separate power supply which did work, but was not ideal. This is a clean solution to Avid's shortfall.

FYI The newer HDX systems now ship with an extra type of power cable.
full size PCIe power to the three avid mini 4 pin.

No more splicing just have to get the (Mac) Mini Pcie splitter (To 2 Pcie power) cable.

Also included are Molex 4 pin to Avid mini 4 pin
and the mini-pcie to Avid 4 pin.

Sorry to bump an old thread, but could someone please share the cable solution (pics no longer seem to exist)? I'm trying an HDX on one of my rigs here and I have the dreaded "better than stock video card connection error". ;-)
