Default Midi Sounds Distorted

Hello I just got Pro Tools 10 and an M-Audio 88es midi keyboard. When I pull up any virtual instrument to play sounds through my keyboard. The sounds sound great for about the first 3 minutes then the sounds completely distort. Its not clipping, its not a volume issue. any suggestions? thank you.

Try this...

Open the session it distorts on... Save. Close... Create new session.

Then open the folder the original session is in and drag it into the new sessions edit window... Select to Import all data..

Now you have an identical session... Try again and see if this one distorts... If it doesnt you have a corrupt session file... If it DOES we have to do more digging...

Read this and post a Sandra report:

Odds are its a hardware issue(computer component) or a bad driver for the interface, which you never mention.

It would be nice If you could post your findings... If it is fixed, just let us know so others reading this thread can solve there issues If they have similar problems....

I assume the session was corrupt and importing the data solved your issues...

Feedback is always good to get!

We need a LOT more info like your system specs - make them available here so people don't have to go to your profile. It's a lot easier when troubleshooting something like this. Mac or PC? Operating system? Audio I/O?

How are you listening to the sound - speakers or headphones? If headphones you might have a cable going bad. If speakers you might either have a speaker going bad or the amp powering the speakers. There are self- powered monitor speakers and there are ones that need an external amp.

What vi's are you using that you're hearing this on?

edit: went to his profile - he's on a Mac so Sandra won't work. Shouldn't have to chase a user's profile to do this kind of stuff.

Almost all the threads I read on today's front page are issues that could easily be overcome by reading that section of the manual, or even just a simple reboot before posting, which I can't believe someone didn't do before starting a thread! Like the Octane pre-amp dude. Geez!!!

Sorry to hijack your thread buddy, but help us help you
