Default problem with speaker LOUD spiking

Hi there Ladies and Gents.
My C24 has recently started to do this really weird thing...It kind of resets itself...
I say kind of, because all of the line/mic inputs reset to 'line', I also noticed that once it made the sound come out of the ALT Monitor, even though it was not selected.

BUT even worse that all of that crud, it spikes the speakers...like the desk does when you turn it off, before you turn off your AMP.
Without any notice it goes BANG and scares the [bleep] out of everyone...

Anyone and ideas!?!?

Thanks for any input.
cheers

hi There,

It sounds like you are losing your incoming power supply, this could be a dodgy mains lead, circuit breaker or faulty UPS if you have one in circuit. Alternatively it could be something inside the primary side of the C24 PSU.

I think it is a power related issue due to the desk resetting to the line inputs which is the power up condition.

Good luck

Interesting fact: I have the same problem after UPGRADING my PSU.

A few weeks ago, one of our Control 24's started up with some lights going on/off including an internal tick sound. We've had this before on another unit, this was the PSU. Replaced this on the current one and it worked. Only fact was that I lost the lights on the scribble strips. This was repaired by reinstalling the PSU.

But then the loud pop/lights on started. Audio disappears from the main speakers and returns when ALT is pressed and unpressed.

It drives me nuts.
