Default coloring mixer tracks?

Hi Guys,

I see in some screenshots that it is possible to change the mixer tracks' colours from grey. Ideally I Would like to colour code groups such as drums, vox guitars etc. I find the tiny color markers below the track name tab to be to small. What I would like to be able to do is to click on the color palette and apply changes to the mixer.

Any tips?

You need to be using Pro Tools version 7.3 for this feature.

So many people ask the question that I created a Tutorial for the procedure on my website.

Default Re: coloring mixer tracks?

I tried coloring my tracks and got it work, however, now I want to get rid of the channel colors (whole channel is colored), but if I hit default in the color palette it goes back to coloring the whole channel/s and if I choose "none" the group colors disappears all together.

I just want my group colors to show underneath the track name (mix and edit screen). I can get the group letter (a,b,c,d etc.) above the track name to show the group color, but I also want the color to show up under the track name (mix) or beside it (edit) like it has always been.

Thank you.

Getting rid of the whole channel color is just a matter of reversing the process from the page I linked to.

As for the color strips, it sounds like you have may your Track Color View turned off.

Great How-To's.
If you could, I have the Axiom 61 and tried what you said, but I can make it work with an Axiom 61.
Is this preset that you have for Enigma only works for Axiom 25? Thank you.

Yes. You would have to create your own for the 61.

Yes. I did it and it works fine. Easier than I expected.
I still have some questions though.
How could I move to other banks of tracks?
I guess I could just do it with the mouse.
And last one.
Where could I find the CC numbers for other controls for controlling PT?
Meaning like, Pan, Select, plug-ins, etc.
I am just trying to learn some of this features. I have a Command|8, so this doesn't
let me use them both, so it doesn't work for me. But is fun to try it out.

On my tutorial page, I make reference to Page 77 of the MIDI Control Surfaces Guide. That is where you will find that information (or what little there is).

As for banking the faders, it should function just like the CS-10 (F5 switch + left or right cursor), which is the profile that is in use, and is covered in an earlier chapter of that same pdf guide.
