Cable Network Audio Deliver Specs
So, zipping around... I can find a bunch of stuff online, but a lot of it looks dated.
Does anyone happen to know where to find, or have in their hands the delivery specs for ABC Family, MTV, ESPN? Not sending anything to them at the moment, but curious as to the specs they may be adhering to. (In particular, loudness levels and exact true peak numbers.) My question revolves more around whether networks that are using 1770 calm act standards are ALSO requiring true peaks be at a certain number? (1770 specs are -2, I believe.) Thanks in advance! |

Re: Cable Network Audio Deliver Specs
I have a major cable network client who basically adhere to the ATSC A/85 spec, with the one exception that they want no peaks over -6dbfs (instead of the standardized -2dbtp). I politely inquired, and they explained to me that they know this is a deviation from CALM, but it's what they need.
If you haven't already, read this: http://www.atsc.org/cms/standards/A_85-2013.pdf
