Default 80's clean preset love

I gotta say, this preset is probably one of the best sounds patches i have now. Sounds amazing, and it sounds so much different than all my other rigs.
Well done Avid!!
Maybe i should ask Avid to make me some custom patches hehe

Who else is in love of this preset?

It sounds different because the Amp/Cab are completely turned off!

That said, it sounds great. :)

Yes, what's the deal with that? Don't understand completelly what's the idea behind that ... then how's the amp simulated? Excuse my ignorance .. :)

I would guess there's no specific reason, except that it sounds great as it is.

Sometimes unconventional methods yield impressive results.

That particular preset emulates "direct to board" guitar recording, where the guitarist plugs straight (or into some pedals first) into a channel on the mixing board. It's much more common for bass these days, but it can yield very cool sounds, as you've found.

:)

Glad to hear it! And thanks for being part of the DUC ATG community. It's really nice to know that the work we put into this thing has actually made some people's lives a little easier, or more musical, or even more happy. What more could one ask for, aside from a 6-month vacation so I can finally get some time to PLAY!!!??!?

I was showing my 23 year old son this patch and his comment was "It sounds like the 80s" to which I replied "You say that like it's a bad thing"...I too used it at church and found that if you shut off the verb, delay and chorus it makes a pretty good acoustic sim...long live the 80s...can't wait for the new Journey CD May 22....now if I could only grow my hair back...
