Default Is there a cheaper version?

Of all the things that I dislike doing the biggest pain is the time it takes to go through a vocal track trying to make all the regions sound at or about the same level! I have just become aware of a wave plug in that does this automatically. The Waves vocal rider. It looks like a must have but it appears to be bundled and the cost is way too much for me. I don't know if there is an equivalent that is available as a stand alone in rtas format but if anyone knows please enlighten me. Thanks.

Here is Vocal rider single plugin

http://www.waves.com/plugins/vocal-r...to-vocal-rider

And here it is for $214 at Audiodeluxe

https://audiodeluxe.com/cart

I will sell one of our licenses for $150 and split the ilok fee if you want.

I havent found anything better unless you either use a limiter on the track aux bus or set the volume manually. I am sure there are other plugins on the market but honestly none that I know of.

Clip gain will let you individually adjust each (separated) region, and I'd rather spend the necessary extra time and do that than let a plugin make the 'decisions" for me. Maybe that's just me, but I'd RATHER take the time and get it right.

There's always normalize, that can get you in the ballpark. Contrary to popular belief, normalizing will not ruin your audio.

Agreed, IF people don't record way too LOW and expect normalize to "fix" it. If you record INSIDE the noise floor and normalize (which to me is just a band aid) it'll bring the noise floor up too. Same is true for overmodulating the crap out of it. Normalize won't "fix" that.

yeah, normalize certainly won't fix badly-recorded material. But many people seem to think that normalizing will bitcrush your audio or something, when it's just a level change to a user-set maximum.

Let's be honest, only drawing and ideal envelope by hand can be perfect :) Rider is designed to save time :) Makes good job for me. I'm still not sure do I like all-purpose plugin or dedicated (a la Waves approach), but the result I get from Vocal Rider and Bass Raider is good. Also Vocal Rider does a good job on sax.
