Reactivation of Perpetual license question

If I postpone my yearly renewal fee:

1) What am I losing out on? Some of the plug-ins and the ability to update?

2) Does it cost more for the subscription plan if you let it end before buying it again?


I am running 2018.7, the renewal fee is $300 and I am trying to understand the ramifications of purchasing the plan for another year.

Your post is a little confusing. Are you actually on a subscription plan? The subscription means it stops working when you stop paying.

If you are on a perpetual license, and you don't renew, then you continue to have permanent use of it, and it is frozen at whatever version and benefits it was at when you didn't renew.

Note that if you're still on a current plan, the actual renewal is only $99. If you have let the support plan expire, then it is $299.

Ahh, I have a perpetual license.

If I let it lapse, I can purchase it again at any point I want for $299, correct? Meaning the price is no different if I keep it current or let it lapse. That is my main question.

For ultimate it’s $399 / $999 respectively.

I just checked and the renewal and support plan for pro tools ultimate is $399. Confused.

$299 reinstatement

Pro Tools Ultimate
$399 renewal
$999 reinstatement

In both cases the price is different between keeping it current or letting it lapse.
