have PTLE 6.9, MP Toolkit 7.1, can't load

I bought 002 in June 2006, disk was PTLE 6.9, however I upgraded to MP Toolkit and 7.1. Computer crashed and I lost all my programs. I can load PTLE 6.9 from the disk, but the MP Toolkit with 7.1 requires a version of PTLE 7 to be loaded before i can go there. Am I stuck w/buying PTLE 7.4? All my sessions were in 7.1 so I can't really do anything with them in 6.9, plus 24+ track sessions are no good w/o the Toolkit. Best way to fix this?

I'm confused. What happened to your 7.1 install. Where is the 7.1 disk or download? Assuming you downloaded it and can locate the authorization code, can you download it again? If you bought it online as a download, DIGI may well have a record of it so you can retrieve what you need. It may be worth an email to tech support.

The 7.1 MP toolkit disk is an upgrade that requires 7.0 to be loaded, it is not the Full 7.1.

At the time I first installed I was able to get PTLE 7.0 off the digidesign website as a free download with my auth key, IIRC. Of course, PTLE 7.0 is long gone now and the only item available is the $149 download of 7.4.

If you got 7.0 from the Digistore, your download and auth code is still available by going to your Digistore account and viewing the receipt for that item.

If 7.0 was a free update for you that was provided by Digidesign, I would think/hope that you still have a copy of the email they sent with the download link? If this is the case, and you don't have the link that they sent you, then you will need to contact Digidesign; they are the only ones that can help you with that.

When you get a new copy, might I suggest you burn it to disk so that you have a permanent copy? That really would be the wise thing to do.


Also, if you still have your 7.0 Auth code, you could always just purchase the 7.0 installer disk from the Digistore for $15.

I did manage to find a few files on my other computer called "Digidesign Audio Drivers Setup" for 7.0 which also contained pdf's of user guides for ASIO drivers and wave drivers. I have both a zipped and unzipped version. Will try this.

NO!

Those drivers are installed by Pro Tools by default, and are the drivers used for other programs. Having both those and Pro Tools installed will cause problems.

Thanks all for the help. Digi Tech Support sent me a new copy of 7.1 via Digidelivery which eliminated the 6.9 to 7.1 via 7.0 jump issue.
