new guy needing help
Hi I am quite new to this. I had been using Pro Tools for a couple of months trying to figure this out. I have not had any problems untill today. When I try to start a new project, or open an old project I get this Message. "External Hard Drive Not Audio Playback Volume" What is this problem and how do I fix it. I can open old projects but the audio will not playback. there just seems to be nothing int he files. I try to start a new project and it will not let me use my external drive. PLease Help!

Re: new guy needing help
Yeah, this happens occasionally but there is a quick fix.
I'm going from memory since PT isn't in front of me, but I think you select "Show Workspace" from the window pull-down menu. This will show your drives. Here you can select a drive and change its status to Read/Record. This will allow PT to treat it as an audio drive. For a better explanation, do a search on this topic. It has been discussed a lot lately (must be a bug with later versions of PT).

Thanks that worked. I just can't figure out why it did that.
