Default Help me with the Clockprocedure

Can anyone help me to discribe the procedure of clocking my system. I´ve got PT24Mixplus, Adat Bridge, MTP-AV, Apogee Rosetta, Yamaha 03D. I´m using optical lightpipe 8 ch to the 03D were ch 1-2 are master L-R and ch 3-8 are used as FX sends. Please explain from were to what the WC should go and how the PT hardware should be at. I mostly record 44.1 khz 16 or 24 bits.

Cheers

Smack

You didn't say what you're using for input.

Without knowing enough, take the Apogee clock and clock the rest with that, Yamaha, Bridge, MTP.

There is a growing number of engineers who think it's best to make the DAC the clock master. I assume the Yamaha is the DAC and the ADC in your system? If you can't specifically derive clock from the DAC portion of the Yamaha, this is a moot point.

I think you would have to use the Rosetta as your clock master .... it only has clock out , but doesn't receive it.

how many inputs and outputs for clock on the MTP? only 1 of each? I don't remember. I would think you would need to send the clock form the Rosetta to the MTP, then take clock out from the MTP to the ADATB, then take clock out from the ADATB to the O3D, unless it is clocked from the ADAT signal, in which case you set 03D to clock from the ADAT signal from the Rosetta.

If the MTPAV has superclock, or 256x, OUT, use that to clock the ADAT bridge, attached to the Superclock 256x In. This might give you an extra word clock out of the MTPAV, which can go to the 03D.

Set PT sync settings to Internal unless ADAT B is receiving clock on the ADAT ins, in which case it's ADAT Digital. ADATB should indicate that it is Slaved. Also, remember to set the MTPAV to slave to the word clock IN.

Note that I know nothing about several of these devices, and I don't want to be held accountable if this all blows up in your face!
