Default Mac OSx 10.5.8- PT 8 upgrade question

I have a last generation power pc Mac G5. It's running Leopard 10.5.8. Of course, once I upgraded to leopard, I discovered that my PT 7.0 no longer works. I was planning to go to PT 8 anyway, so this is just a minor setback.

What I wanted to know is can I go right to version 8.03 or is there some intermediate step I need to take? Oh, and I use a Digi 002 rack. Any advise appreciated.

Hi, I went straight from 7.3 to 8.0.3 on os 10.5.8. 8.0.3 is a full installer, just make sure you uninstall the previous version.

later,

Scott

Before you do something silly like installing 8.0.3, you might want to check compatibility first!

PPC (like your G5!) is no longer supported after 8.0.1cs2.

8.0.3 will not work on your system, you need an Intel Mac.

Thanks for the heads up. Are there any issues with 8.0.1.cs2 that I should be concerned with?

Not that I'm personally aware of... you might want to give a search of the forums though, to see if there's anything pressing or relevant.

8.0.1cs2 was released specifically as the last update for PPC, so it is supposed to provide a number of fixes related mostly to G5 users.
