how to get third party plug in recognized?
I know this is a newbie question. I've looked and looked and can't seem to figure it out. How do I get my third party VST recognized with pro tools? Specifically, Kick-ass brass. I've installed it and it works as a stand alone thing, but how do I get it into pro tools to use it?
Thanks for any help you may offer. |

Re: how to get third party plug in recognized?
Pro tools does not recognize VST or Audio Units plugins, which is what that sample library is. It must be RTAS to use in Protools. Most major 3rd party plugins make their stuff available in all three formats, but not all. Keep that in mind when you're buying them
However, there is something called a VST to RTAS adapter from FXpansion that you can buy from any dealer for about $50. It's worked okay for some people, but check the specs on it to make sure it's compatible with your computer and operating system, etc. Here's the link: http://www.fxpansion.com/index.php?page=15 |
