Default Logic 9 + Mountain Lion + MBox2 pro

Sorry if have been asked.

Ok. I presently run Logic 9 on a snow leopard iMac using my MBox 2 pro without any problems.

I plan to upgrade to the new iMac soon. They come with Mountain Lion.

Will my MBox2 pro run without problems or will I need to download a piece of software to make it run properly?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi,

You always need to install the drivers for whatever OS you are using or the latest drivers etc...

Ok Chris. Thanks for the link.

So with this driver, my MBox2 Pro will run nicely under Mountain Lion, isn't it?

Hi,
I was on 10.4 and used Logic 9 + Mbox2 Mini and no ProTools. Everything used to run smoothly until I decided to upgrade to 10.8.

The Mbox doesn't work. It doesn't appear in system pref and the light doesn't come up either.

I've been digging this website for months now and can't even fine what OSX is my Mbox2 Mini best compatible with. Pretty annoying.
There is a lousy Hardware update page which only provides a broken dmg file.
I suppose I've to downgrade but still am not sure to what 10.7 or 10.6.

Word of advise, don't upgrade unless you are 100% sure.

Hope it helped.

BTT

Can someone confirm before I put my money on a new iMac please?

I plan to upgrade to the new iMac soon. They come with Mountain Lion. I use mostly Logic Pro 9 and on occasion PT LE 8.0.5

Will my MBox2 pro run without problems with Logic 9.1.7 on a new iMac under Mountain Lion? (I know PT LE 8.0.5 won't run under Mountain Lion).

Thanks

Just saw your post Houtanian. Sure it helps. Really annoying indeed. I'm gonna follow your advice and won't upgrade now. If Avid don't do anything soon, I'm gonna simply let go my MBox 2 Pro and PT once and for all. Life is good with or without PT on my side!

Hi,

Reinstall the Mbox 2 Pro V.9.0 driver without the Mbox 2 Pro connected.

Then connect the Mbox 2 Pro.

Hope that helps.

Regards

Frank

Hi Frank! Thanks for your help. The thing is that I'm still using an iMac with 10.6.8 snow leopard, Logic Pro and my MBox 2 Pro. Everything runs smoothly.

I just want to be sure my setup will work on the new iMac that are shipped with Mountain Lion before pulling the trigger on the 27' model!

According to your post, should I conclude that there should be no problems at all to run the MBox 2 Pro under Mountain Lion if the V.9.0 driver is installed?
