Selling Mbox 2 Pro

Quick question. I sold my old Mbox 2 Pro to a friend. I had this a couple of years ago running Pro Tools 8LE. I have since upgraded to newer high end gear and Pro Tools 9. My friend can't authorize the version of Pro Tools I included on the DVD install discs that came with the Mbox. I am assuming that this is because I bought it and it's registered to me. Here is my question in several parts.

If I give him my authorization for my old PT8 version will this void my version of PT 9 since I bought the cross grade version? How can I get him up and running? Will he have to buy Pro Tools software? I'm thinking yes. Also, I kept my old Ilok (this was the Factory Mbox). He doesn't need the plugins so will he need the Ilok or will the Mbox itself function as the dongle?

I barely ever used this thing (it was bought for a studio lounge for clients to make quick edits before mixing). Many thanks for any tips you can give me.

You should be able to authorize it - no prob

Registering it is another matter entirely - and most likely should it be attempted

Sounds like you never did the Transfer of Ownership. You can just do that now, and that should allow him to use the PT8 that came with it. He won't need an Ilok, as PT8 was authorized by having Digi hardware (the Mbox 2 Pro, in this case) connected.
