Pro tools quits unexpectedly

I can't login login in to pro tools. It comes a sign saying "Pro tools quit unexpectedly".

Can anyone help me with that? What can i do?

we need a lot more for on what you are running

HD , LE, Mbox
???

cables all seated? that would be my first check

is your software authorized?

you have given us nothing to go on

what computer etc etc...everything in your rig chain

PT8....? have you tried prayer and meditation?

I have a G4. 160 gig in the hard drive. Pro tools version 7.4. and Yes the software was running.

HD , LE, OR Mbox? These are the three different types of Protools.

If HD, which and how many cards are installed. Expansion chassis??

PT Version? Operating System? Etc...

What were you doing the last time everything functioned properly?

What were you doing when it crashed?

Which god are you praying to??

Well i have a g4 running 10.4.11
I have protools HD 1, version 7.4
I were repairing disk permissions and when i log in the wallpaper in the desktop was changed. All the programs in the dock even protools were gone. Just the basic ones were there. All seemed like if I installed a mac for the first time.
But all the programs were inside the Hard Disk. But Now pro tools doesn't want to run.

Hmm, that doesn't sound like a protools specific problem. Sounds like a system problem, or a drive problem. Something's corrupted or gone bad. It could be many things.

Are you using just the one drive for system and recording to? That's a no, no, if you are. I would check the drive, then boot from the install disk and use the disk utility there, reinstall the OS and protools as a start.

Sorry, not a tech, but others here may be able to help you further.

Check the Quicktime version you are running. I had a same problem once where I updated my Quicktime software using the Mac software update, and it was the quicktime version which caused me to be unable to log into Protools. The version of Protools you are running may not be compatible with the version of Quicktime

did you do the online software updater?

that's not a good idea

you sound like you have an apple account issue

and that can cause a word of woe

do you have backup sytem drive?

get off of your knees
then use what God has given you already in your brain to figure this out and stick to it til bring it home
