Sad thing that there are very few AAX-DSP plugins available. Avid S# boards would be much better value with better 3rd party support. Now from my standpoint those could only use Avid&Sonnox plugins. That is plenty, but still... without a proper Waves C6 replacement I'm more likely to use an old HD8 with an old control surface. Sad but true. Avid should put more effort into getting 3rd party vendors develop DSP plugs

Have you tried the Avid Pro multiband?

Default HDX - go to tracking EQs and Comps

Sadly, for what I've tried, I can only compare Avid Pro Multiband to Waves C4. In other words, it lacks the two dynamic EQ's

Multiband Compressors (dynamic eq) for tracking? Never went there before. Looking at Pro Multiband it is very similar to C6 control wise just 4 bands instead of 6. For individual tracks would that be enough? Will give it a try just to see but the whole idea of simple goes out the window (for me) when I start with this kind of plugin for tracking ...

I miss the waves SSL channel from TDM . For tracking comp I use the Softube CL1B ( very good) and for EQ I resort to Avid 7 band ( never radical, mostly filtering ) .

Try AE400 on drums (snare and kick, for example) or on an edgy or harsh vocalist with lots of dynamics

McDSP AE400 or AE600 for dynamic EQ and if you still need it, MC2000 or Avid Pro MultiBand for multi-band compression should get you what C6 could do and then some. And if you don't mind limiting your dynamic EQ to 1kHz+ and one band you could go with Sonnox SuprEsser DS.

When it comes to multiband DSP, the McDSP offerings are stellar.
