Just a warning ⚠️ don’t go on Facebook music groups! You’ll be shooting yourself in the head within hours.

So much bull and miss informing going around and most of it by so called influencers doing their covert selling.

Don't forget that beryllium is considered a hazardous material with severe health issues if you make contact with it. That's why there's a health warning from the company (Focal) that makes the monitors with the beryllium tweeters.

The hype with this reminds me of the hype over electrostatic speakers

Am I allowed to wade in here and express my annoyance at “chord packs” and at what I can only refer to as abject losers advertising them and somehow esteeming, almost bragging, about having no musical knowledge whatsoever? I would respectfully suggest that having no musical knowledge would not equip a person for creating music. Also, claiming that these chord packs allow “artists” to overcome “beat block” (a term which seems to be used to describe a condition an “artist” is in when they have no creative talent) is, frankly, laughable.

The ads would have you believe that an “artist” with no musical ability or knowledge coupled with no creativity or inspiration can create worthwhile music with a “chord pack”. It’s utterly embarrassing.

That’s my rant over.

Yeah, I know. It just seems to get under my skin. It must in breach of some sort of advertising code. How can a company be allowed to make such ludicrous claims about a piece of software?

Allow me to disagree with the above. While musical knowledge would be great to have don't let it be the be all/end all. Take Lindsey Buckingham - self-taught on guitar and look what he's created. You don't have to take music theory classes to make good music.

You rail against chord packs; my thing is arpeggiators. I prefer to play them in on my own but every so often when I get a synth that uses one as a selling point I fire it up and find new/neat patterns I can use. So yeah - it helps me when I'm blocked and stuck in a rut. And I've been making music since 1960 with all the requisit knowledge.

Too much knowledge can be crippling.

And, given the taste of the music-buying public, zero knowledge can make a hit
