Pro Tools 10.3.2 is officially qualified for 10.8. (Not for 10.8.2 though, but it works flawlessly here).

In general downgrading the OS on a new Mac to a previous version isn't possible. There are exceptions, but I would seriously doubt the new iMacs are one of them.

I tried downgrading my Mid 2012 MBP with Senior tech support from Apple. Didn't work. I didn't want to have to pay to update Waves plugs but I did and I love Mountain Lion. I am pretty sure that PT10 is cleared for 10.8.x. I am running 10.8.2 with PT 10.3.2 and it works great.

Caleb - to which version of OSX were you trying to downgrade to? I doubt going to Lion would be a problem. I do know though that going back to Snow Leopard from a machine that has Lion or ML on it is almost impossible.

So just setup a dual boot drive... one with Lion and one ML... then you can switch to Lion if you want to (like If your having issues with PT on ML) or just run on ML.
Best of both worlds if you ask me.... I just wish all the stuff I use in Snow Leopard was Lion compatible let alone ML compatible.... still waiting for some things.. like Quick Keys for example
