iMac 2.33 Intel Core Duo
OSX 10.5.8 mBox2 attached with USB 3' cable to iMac back panel USB port PT LE 8.0.3 cs2 4 gB DDR2 RAM Rocstor 850 fw800 drive with oxford 924 chipset (playback/record drive) Unsuccessful workarounds: Replacing cables and switching USB ports on iMac back panel and USB hub Disconnect USB hub and remove any competing USB devices Every permutation of H/W buffer size/ Processors/ DAE buffer Moved all plugins to Unused Build test session with ONE audio track, no plugins Disabled all Apple/Mac related Bluetooth/Firewire/Network activity Repaired disk permissions on boot drive Re-formatted Rocstor work drive Extended-Journaled Re-booted Mac several times No matter what I do, when I play a single audio file (48kHz/24bit) in one track, no other audio tracks, I cannot escape: CPU usage is holding off USB audio. Remove some plugins, delete some tracks, or increase the "H/W Buffer Size" in the Playback Engine Dialog. (-6104) What now? |

Re: CPU Usage Holding off USB Audio -6104 error
Have you tested it without the FireWire drive attached? What about testing from a new Admin account?
Have you disabled FireWire networking, per the info in the General Troubleshooting thread? |

Re: CPU Usage Holding off USB Audio -6104 error
Yes, I did all of that. Tried a new admin account, tested other FW drives, turned off FW networking. Followed all the recommended procedures in the prescribed encyclicals.

Re: CPU Usage Holding off USB Audio -6104 error
So, just to be clear - you get the error even when testing from the internal drive, with no other drives attached? Do you have any network volumes mounted?

Re: CPU Usage Holding off USB Audio -6104 error
I have the exact same problem as Mark. And have tried all the same procedures to know avail. Anyone have anymore ideas as to what the problem could be.
I am using: PT LE 8.0.4 Mbox 2 OSX 10.6.4 Uni body MBP - 4gb Ram - 2.26 Intel COre 2 Duo - USB 2.0 I have tried creating a session on the main computer partition, a separate partition and also on an external drive but haven't had any luck. |
