Hobo misidentification

Dear friends,

I am becoming deeply concerned that some members are identifying as hobos without actually qualifying as hobos.

In another thread [a thread with lots and lots of views, btw] in this very forum, I have witnessed numerous instances of members alluding to either their current or past hobo status. Many of these posters are not acting like hobos, they just seem to be victims of some sort of collective "hobo misidentification" / crowd hysteria.

I have seen this type of thing before, where people believe that they may gain some "street cred" by identifying as "gangsta" or "outlaw" or "bad*ss". All of a sudden, you have regular people pretending to be evil and confused.

I am not sure we should just stand by and let this type of thing flourish. After all, the transition from "hobo misidentified" to actual evil hobo, while it does not always occur, does happen from time to time, and often without warning.

So, I ask whether or not any of these recent "Fauxbos" have actually engaged in evil hobo rituals, or made derogatory comments about an awesome Pro Tools HD Rig that was gleaming in the sun. If they have, then perhaps the damage is done, and they should bear the evil hobo stigmata. If not, then there is no reason to believe that they could not be brought back to the light, perhaps by listening to some awesome music from a Pro Tools HD rig with 192s [or from an appropriate equivalent of the newer HDX products].

Has anyone else any thoughts on this? Please advise.

Hobos have probably made this thread invisible.

If so, when did they develop the technology to do such a thing?

Is anyone other than me able to read this?

May I ask if you have had any run-ins with the hobo folk, or with any Fauxbos? There have been few sightings, and I am concerned that the actual hobos may be going "underground", and manipulating the Fauxbos to run interference in the forums.
