Upgrade: You Have Reached The Maximum Allowed Activations For This Serial Number
Hello,
I have dowloaded the updated firmware 2.0 of 11R from the Avid site. but when i run the update i get the message : You Have Reached The Maximum Allowed Activations For This Serial Number. Allowed Seats for this Serial Number: 1 Currently Activated Seats: 1 Attempted Amount: 1 I hvae seen already quite some forum entries with the same issue, but I could not identify the solution for this issue. I tried the usage of the software some time back on a Windows 7 PC and the dialogue did not appear at all - so it was not working. Now I'm with a new PC and Windows 10 and I receive the above mentioned error. Does anybody know what I have to do to resolve the issue for my 11R? Thanks and best regards, Mathias Sch. |

Contact Avid support. They will be able to reset your activation and get you on your way.

Re: Upgrade: You Have Reached The Maximum Allowed Activations For This Serial Number
Thanks for the encouragement.
Just to give you an update. I opened a case for it and received the first help (new license/software). Now it seems that I stuck at "Can't find licensing app. Perhaps the cp folder is not installed properly.", as some other forum members did before. And I had used the Firefox Browser NOT the Internet Explorer. I will wait for the next round of help. |

Re: Upgrade: You Have Reached The Maximum Allowed Activations For This Serial Number
Thanks to Avid - I did it finally - I upgraded my Eleven Rack.
What I have done? Here I share my Knowledge - Maybe it is usefull for other users as well: I got my old Windows 7 PC running again - real slow Then I uninstalled Windows Explorer like asked by the AVID support. "You have mentioned having version 11, but you might be also having Internet Explorer 9 there, so please check and uninstall that as well using the same instructions here: http://avid.force.com/pkb/articles/troubleshooting/en394771" |

Re: Upgrade: You Have Reached The Maximum Allowed Activations For This Serial Number
A restart and another update trial failed.
So I used the command for Explorer version 10, 9 and 8. |

Re: Upgrade: You Have Reached The Maximum Allowed Activations For This Serial Number
Now you must put this pieces together
Starting from FORFILES ending with /norestart" The Forum didn't allow to post the complete command - Maybe due to security reasons! So I used the command for Explorer version 10, 9 and 8. Just replace -*11.*. by -*10.*. -*9.*. -*8.*. In a row. Another restart of the PC. After that the updater started directly to update the firmware without the serial number popup. Maybe because I filled it out in previous trials. Thanks AVID SUPPORT! Finally I got my Eleven Rack upgraded! |
