Default Desktop Advice for New Pro Tools User!!

Hi! Brand new to pro tools, I inherited my dad's Pro Tools LE Version 7 with Mbox 2, can anyone please recommend the best (and cheapest) desktop computer that would support this? First time recording, I play acoustic and write lyrics and am ready to start recording but I don't think my laptop will be efficient enough. Any advice is greatly appreciated!!

Thank you!

Do you want a Windows machine or a Mac? There's nothing in a current Mac that will run PT7le. Ditto for Windows. For Windows you need either Win XP or Vista (32 bit) and for a Mac the latest is Tiger (OSX 10.4).

What is your current computer?

I currently have just a basic Toshiba laptop with Windows 10. I'd prefer a Windows, seems like all the new ones come with Windows 10. Thinking about an acer, just don't know enough about computers to decide!

If you read what I wrote earlier you need Win XP or Vista to run PT7le. Any Windows computer you buy now will come with Win10. You have a couple of options - get a used computer with WinXP on it or upgrade to PT12.
