Fast Track compatible with XP?
I'm looking at upgrading my audio/midi interface to the M-Audio Fast Track Pro Mobile from an on-lline dealer. The website does not indicate, but would the interface be compatible with PT LE 8 and Windows XP SP3?
Thank you |

Re: Fast Track compatible with XP?
No M-Audio unit works with Pro Tools LE(you need MP for M-Audio interfaces). And beyond that, I wouldn't call the Fast Track an "upgrade". If you have Pro Tools LE8, then Mbox 2, 002 and 003 are probably your best options. All will work with LE and XP.(for that matter, the otiginal Mbox will work with LE up to 8.0.1(but no higher) so if "cheap" is important, those units can be had for $50-75 now

Re: Fast Track compatible with XP?
My problem is I've been using the Mbox 2 Mini for audio and a separate interface for MIDI (M-Audio MidiSport Uno and Roland UM-ONE mk2) and can't get MIDI response from my piano keyboard to the computer. My local guitar center guy said I should avoid using the 2 separately and use an interface with both audio and MIDI i/o's.

Re: Fast Track compatible with XP?
You shouldnt really have a problem using two separate devices for audio and MIDI. Unless you want to upgrade to one of the newer Digi/AVID interfaces like lbee1952 mentioned, you might just need to get a better MIDI interface. That being said, it is much more convenient to have it all built into one device, especially if your rig is mobile.
