Default how do input effects on tracks -LE 6.4 -

how do input effects - simple I should know this
I just got 6.4, am using on a new op system OSX

- thou the effects are listed in the upper choices, I can't figure out how to input any of the effects onto the tracks, I was able to bus directly from the track when I was in my Le001 5.4 or something on my OS9 -

cheers

I'll keep it over on this one...

If you are looking to do effects such as Delays, reverbs, any type of modulation you want to use an aux track. Easiest example is for vocals:

create a new stereo Aux track just below your vocal track. On the insert 1, insert a D-Verb plugin. The default is Medium Hall which is a good generic vocal reverb. Set the input of the Aux track to Bus 1-2 or any other stereo bus you want. Then go to the send of the vocal track and choose the bus you just selected as the input of the reverb Aux. a small fader will pop up and that is how you control how much reverb gets applied. Then using that same bus you can add that same reverb to any track, which saves putting a reverb plugin on every track.

If it is EQ or compression or a dynamics based effect, then you add it to the insert of the track you are trying to manipulate. So for the vocal add an EQ to insert 1 and a compressor to insert 2.

is that a good start?

Hi Oddsare, thanks for the reply - my problem is that I don' t have an "insert" on the track, it seems it use to be right above, or around the waveform on my OS9 - this is where my 6.4 seems to be different that my OS9 version - I use to be able to do all you just explained on OS9. I'm starting to wonder if I bought the right LE program from pro tools to run on my OSX 10.3.9
