Yes. I have it on my system. Flawless, quiet, and cool.

The Zalman heatsinks and fans are excellent when you need a quiet box. If you're interested in making other parts of your system quiet, check out www.lownoisepc.com . While they dont ship internationally, all of the products that they sell are tested by the owner - so check out what he's selling, maybe his reviews, then look for a local source of the equipment.

Hi All,

I've just bought a Asus K8V Deluxe and a Zalman CNPS7000A fan. Looking at the instructions to fit the fan to the motherboard, it would seem that I have to install the supplied square of aluminium to the underside of the motherboard, before screwing in the risers and attaching the fan.

Thing is, there is already an aluminium part on the motherboard, which seems to be stuck or glued on. Leaving this on will mean that the risers are too high and the fan won't fit properly.

Anyone any ideas on how to get the fan fitted?

Cheers,

Nic.

Not sure about using it on an AMD PC, but I got in a 7000cu on a Pentium 4 and the stupid FanMate1 speed controller cable is too short to put anywhere you can actually use it without having to open the case to get to it. Anyone suss out a solution to this mere annoyance?

A friend of mine put it on for me. I believe he removed the one on the board and installed the one that came with Zalman.

Using a plastic knife or spoon, carefully nudge and free the glued backplate from Asus K8V MB. Gently remove any remaining glue with Q-tip. Install backplate, nipples, and CPU heatsink+fan per instructions supplied with Zalman.
