Default mobile power sources outside studio - possible?

wondering if anyone knows of any methods/ideas for powering one's mac recording protools system - but away from the studio/home/city grid (away from any typical electric plugs) - i.e. if one wants to record in the middle of no-where - has anyone tried anything....as in any kinds of batteries maybe - just curious to know if it's an option.

cheers

I use two things when I am in remote areas. I have a dead quiet Honda generator see it here which I use to charge up batteries/powerbook, or run while I am getting this going.

I also use those battery jumper boxes, I can get almost 12 hours off of one. one here get the highest rated amp one you can, with the least amount of bells and whistles. Mine has two 12 volt connections and a light. They take 24 hours to fully charge. Get two of these and a 12-volt PB adapter and you are set

Do what the location guys do...

Build a 12v, 7.5ah battery into a pelican case with a charger. Works great, is small and compact, and very portable. I have done several into a Pelican 1150 case. Not several batteries in one 1150 case...you know what I mean.
