003 won't switch banks with arrow keys

So recently the arrow key functionality hasn't been working in one of our Digi 003 rooms. Normally, hitting the arrow keys left/right switches the banks, but now it does a quick flip and then reverts back to whatever bank it was previously on, all within a second. Setting it to nudge has it work for up to 8 nudges, where it'll then revert back to the original 8 banks.

Clicking on the actual tracks in the mix/edit window will flip the banks and keep them there, so that's the workaround we've been having to use but it's rather tedious. The other two 003 consoles don't have this problem, and searching didn't bring up much. Anybody have this problem before/ know of any solutions?

What version of Pro Tools? PT9 has an issue that has yet to be solved(lucky for me, I don't NEED the faders so much).

It's PT8, I ended up switching out the 003 for another, newer 003 rack and the same problem keeps happening, so it must be a software problem.

Have you found a fix for this? I've recently started having exactly the same issue.

I'm assuming it's a software setting but have no idea where to even begin looking.

WHAT??? The rack has no faders and bank button so how can it possibly have the same issue?

I got my arrow keys to start responding properly. Don't know what worked because I did a few things but basically, went into Utility mode, ran a few diagnostics, then deleted the Digidesign databases and Pro Tools preferences, emptied my trash can, and finally zapped PRAM.

Restarted, fired up Pro Tools and everything is better then ever.

I'm running Pro Tools 8.0.4.

I tried trashing prefs and the database but still no luck.

It is. In your other post did you say that you were using PT9?

I'm on 8.0.4 so it might be a different issue.

Ok, I know this post is over a year old , but I wanted to post a fix for this issue incase anyone else found this thread as I did, The problem occurs when your midi device (keyboard) and your digi are trying to control the same thing. For this instance , im using the M-Audio Oxygen 49 and a digi 003. Heres the fix, Open pro tools, in the top menu, select setup, then select peripherals, select the tab "midi controllers" and set all the "type" fields to none, and kablamo !! You're done, This is what worked for me , hope it helps
