Default HDX not shipping until Mid January
HDX not shipping until mid January - but don't bet on it.
This is what my supplier told me.
Is this the same for everyone?

Yeah, AFAIK, its suffering some issues and not quite "ready for prime time".

I saw HDX at an Avid event in Dallas a week ago or so, and it was clearly not ready. Crashed a few times, took 4 minutes to load after crashing, and behaved "oddly" for the whole demo. YIKES!!! If I were AVID, I'd hold it back until it's done! Please don't make customers your beta testers! I don't think Avid will last thru 2012 if they have a bad HDX release!

I saw the demo in LA a few weeks ago and it was flawless, no crashes no stuttering

The aes ones didn't suffer any crashes at all, so it must have been something else.

To say the least. They are under great pressure to deliver. They've been pretty cocky about PT 10 and if the first reviews are negative it won't be good.

I imagine them all working through the holidays.

Avid could raise the upgrade 20% more maybe that would help ?

I thought all those (marketing) post engineers in the Avid video and with pictures on the front page say it works great with no bugs?


I think Avid is waiting for Apple....
