Default 11.2 and 11.3 Install Error

I'm getting this error when installing 11.3 as well as the 11.2 trial:

"Error 1305.Error reading from file c:\Insta''\ProTools11\Pro_Tools_11_3_0_Win_83673\P ro Tools\PT\Avid Pro Tools.msi. Verify that the file exists and that you can access it."

I'm pretty sure there is no "PT" folder and no "Avid Pro Tools.msi" on my computer.
I might try moving the install files to a folder under "Program Files (x86)"
Is that worth trying?

Thanks in advance,
Dave

What is your system info?

Do you have any version of Pro Tools installed already?

Have you tried re-downloading the file?

Have you tried moving the installer (the whole folder) to the desktop and try installing from there?

Sounds like a corrupted installer from the little info that you've given us. Like Benoni said I'd try downloading the installer again and running it from your desktop.

I got an error message like that also. I had to go back and install 10.3 and build up from there. Upgraded to 11.3.0 today and first try I got a message about Pro Tools not recognizing some "component". Restarted and it ran fine. So, you may need to get a Version 10 Pro Tools and work up.

No

Yes

No, will try,

I'm guessing not, since I've downloaded 1.2 and 1.3 and both raise the same error.
>you may need to get a Version 10 Pro Tools and work up
Given the complexity of this product, this sounds logical. Will try.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll let you know if anything works.

Glad you got it sorted. Here's one more bit of info that may help in the future. Whenever you UNinstall Pro Tools, ALWAYS check the option to also UNinstall the HD driver. Always(because if you don't, when you go to install the next version, the presence of the old HD driver can fool the installer into thinking there is already an installation). This is regardless of what system you are running(HD, HD/Native or 3rd party hardware)
