Default 11.3.2 on EL CAPITAN

I'm looking for feedback from people who have taken the plunge and went for 10.11... I know it's not officially supported but I'm in a bit of a dilemma with my laptop.
I'm still on Mavericks but increasingly find any updates to apps ask for Yosemite. I missed downloading Yosemite and no one seems to have an install file. And I'm not quite prepared to cough up the money for PT12 since this is only my private laptop for the occasional tidy up / prep at home...
Any experience anyone? Particularly with MBP ?

Cheers
M

I'm probably not ur guy but I have the same basics that you do. I never upgraded to Yosemite either nor do I plan to upgrade again on both MBPr's. I have the 11.3.1 and I figure I will get 5-10 years out of the computers and HOPEFULLY by then there will be some resolved issues with DAWs. PT 12 does not appear to have lived up to much, I have two 100% rock solid systems and I can't see a need to change. Why do u wish to?

Since I mainly use the laptop for non - work related stuff, I keep bumping against problems - Iphoto upgrade needs 10.10 some other apps from appstore require at least 10.10....
I use PT mainly at work where the standard is 10.9.5 /11.3.2, but as mentioned I do want to do some prep / finish off work at home sometimes so it's good to have a stable PT running on my laptop....
