Import AAF crashing PT 2020.11

Anyone successfully imported an AAF in 2020.11?

For me it crashes every time.

High Sierra.

many so far without issue... where is your AAF coming from?

Davinci Resolve. Not sure what version.
1 video track.
12 audio tracks.
Seems to be the videotrack that's crashing it. Works if video is not imported.

Video track import is unreliable (and unsupported) coming from Premiere or Resolve. It only works properly from Avid MC in my experience.

I'll probably just import audio and import the video separately.


By the way:

Since I'm not that experienced working with movies, HOW would you go ahead in this case.

I mixed and delivered a short commercial.
Then they wanted to cut out some scenes, making the whole ad maybe 10 seconds shorter.

How would you go ahead doing that? With the least amount of redoing your work from scratch.

Assuming you don't get notes about what was cut...

Save a copy (obviously!) and import the new video and guide track. Play your mix and the new video and guide track together until it doesn't match. There is your first change. See if you can match the edit they made using your tracks. Repeat.

If it really is just stuff cut out those are the easiest changes. When they start changing edits and adding material it gets more complex...

No problems here importing aaf files into Pro Tools v2020.11

It works fine regardless of what procedure I'm using

• Double-click the AAF file
• Using the Import Session Data Dialog
• Opening from the Workspa
