Default oasys card

I'm using a 001 on my Mac with the Oasys in an AMD machine. I'm using the plugs and synths from the Oasys via ADAT in/out. I'm getting this popping and clicking noise as if the clock is not properly set. I have the Oasys' clock source set on ADAT. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

in pro tools setup make sure that ehen you record the cloock is set at external

and when playing back , if you have pro tools tools 6 on mac , then set to external

I've seen a set up on windows with pro tools 5 that you could leave the clock on external all the time

but that might have been because the motor mix was the clock source

this will take away those pops

Thanks for your response. There is no setting for external but I did set it for optical and I still have the problem. I'm begining to think it's a hardware problem. Maybe something needs to be soldered, I don't know but I'm pissed. Thank you anyway.

Did you have this problem before installing the OWC?

I had an OWC 1.4 that would not sync properly to a Focusrite 428 via adat optical while using OSX and PT6. It would sync however to an O1V through adat optical, go figure.

I returned the 1.4 and got the Gigadesign 1GHz. The giga runs fine at 1.2 GHz and clocks to the 428 fine, in both OS9/PT5 or OSX/PT6.

The weird thing is the OWC 1.4 would sync to the 428 under OS9 and ProTools 5,but not in OSX and PT 6.

Pop in your 400 cpu and see if the problem goes away.

I think you are right, I didn't have this problem before the OWC upgrade.

Thank you.

Are you actually able to get the Oasys to work with OSX in PT6? I have tried and can't get it to work.

If you can, did you do anything different when upgrading? I couldn't get AMS to recognize that the card existed, although it looked like the software got up and running (in classic mode)..

I'd be interested to hear about your experience.

Thanks in advance.

I'm using the card in a AMD machine running Windows 98 and connecting it to the Digi via ADAT in/out. I think my problem is the OWC processor upgrade.

You were right. I replaced the OWC cpu with the original and the problem disappeared. I hope the Giga Design cpu works out . Thanks for saving me from pulling out what little bit of hair I have left.

Glad to help. I struggled with this for a week, Digi and OWC had no clue.

The Giga has been solid, almost as fast as the 1.4 and cheaper too.

fyi, I've also had the clicking and popping problem caused by Oasys defaulting to 48000, while PT was at 44.1
