Default Presonus Faderport - PT 8.0.3 & Win 7

Anyone out there been able to get the Faderport to work properly in Windows 7 & PT 8.0.3?

It does not show up properly in the peripherals setup for MIDI Controllers. It should show up as a “USB Audio Device” but that is not an option.

As a result, the basic transport functions (Play, Rewind, etc.) *do* work, but *not* the Fader or Pan functions.

Any suggestions? It's probably a Presonus / Win 7 driver issue rather than Pro Tools, but I thought I'd ask here first.

Getting ANY controllers to work on Win 7 has been an exercise in futility from what I've read.
Further proof, perhaps, that the "latest greatest" ISN'T always????

I have to say that on my general use computer Win 7 has been great - solid really - no problems at all.

And despite all the moaning on the list, I have had very few problems with my Pro Tools rig. Granted, I keep it simple - Intel motherboard, all the s/w optimizations, sparse use of plugins, etc. So far the missing Faderport functionality has been my only real issue, and that hasn't been a show stopper.

Anyhow, I will update this post if I find a solution...

my frontier alphatrack works just fine (PT 8.03 and Win 7 64 bit)... just make sure you update the drivers? I'm not sure too much about Faderports but meh...

I stand by my statement. We're talking two different computers here, both running Win 7. I've had no major issues with either:

One exclusively for PT - that one is having the Faderport issue. Otherwise it's working fine.

The second - general use computer - is for everything else, including internet, Office, Adobe Acrobat, Finale etc. Nothing bad to report there.
