Default Piano sustain effect removed once clip is edited.

Hello, I posted earlier about having issues with recording my keyboard and sustain pedal together. I found out how to get the sustain effect to record but now there is a new problem. When I listen back to the recorded track it sounds great but if I edit the clip in anyway, then listen again, the sustain effect gets lost or somehow turned off and now you just hear the regular piano notes playing. Not quite sure how this is possible but if anyone can help I will love ya for it.

Pro Tools 11 Trail
Windows 10
Casio wk 225 keyboard
BOSS FS-6 sustain pedal
Focusrite Scarlette 2i2

Keyboard is plugged directly into the computer.

Do you have the sustain controller lane visible when editing? It's easier to understand what happens when you edit MIDI in Pro Tools.

There's a small arrow pointing right in the colored portion of each MIDI track in the edit window. If you hover over it it says "show/hide automation lanes". Click it, and select sustain.

Use the midi editor (double click on the midi clip you want to edit) instead of editing the clips directly from the arrangement window like you would with audio.
