Default Boom is strictly 4/4?

I've looked at old threads insinuating that Boom picks up the session meter, but I can't make that happen. No matter what meter I change the session too, the Boom instrument steps thru all 16 of its 16th notes every time. Am I doing something incorrectly, or just wasting my time trying?

thanks,
V
