Default "Assertion..." problem while trying to rename a file

Hi,
I get this warning when trying to rename a file from within Pro Tools 9:

It was ok before but I get this info for a period of time. I can change a region name but when it comes to a file - I can't.

I also observed a strange behaviour of PT. Each time I launch PT I get the Waves options screen which is supposed to be visible only once when you install the plugs.ticking 'don't show this again' causes no change. Additionaly, after doing something in a session PT crashes when quitting the app in a usual way (cmd+q or directly from the aproppriate menu) - this doesn't happen when just launching and quitting PT.

At first I thought something strange is happening with permissions. I did a permission repair and checked the disk for errors (both the audio and system disk) with Disk Utility with no improvement. I also checked if the audio disk is set to any restrictions - it's available for all and with no excerptions (PT itself can write to the disk, the only thing is I can't rename a file from within PT)

I found this topic http://duc.avid.com/showthread.php?t=327036 but nobody answered

This happens on my work machine which is quite different from my private one:
- MP Nehalem 2.93x4
- 4GB
- 4x 1TB
- 10.6.8
- mbox pro (3rd gen)
- PT 9.0.6
- Waves Platinum 8

I hope this time somebody has a clue. Thanks in advance!
