You could try M-Audio Fast Track Pro or Ultra for home use! Although make sure to plug the Pro to a powered USB hub or use its power supply!

What I was thinking is 2x2, 4x4 with midi, digital connection. It can be second hand 100-300$ price. Must be at least USB 2.0 or firewire, compact but with no breakout cables (like Babyface), low latency is a must. Dual mic pres are welcome.
Here are the candidates:
Focusrite Scarlet 2i4
TC Konnekt or Impact series
NI Komplete 6

Have anybody experience using those interfaces with PT10? Any other candidates?
i am on NI Komplete 6, so far no issue with it. Now waiting for Behringer FCA 1616 to be release on the market, want to see if the build in insert is any good.

Thanks. Komplete is often (if not always) always bundled with some extra full NI instrument or plugin, so it is definetly worth consideration. Will you find some time to check the lowest stable buffer latency with http://centrance.com/products/ltu/ ?

it give me an error:-
Can not measure the latency.
Please check your connections and
verify if input/output levels match

I'll try again later tonight and give you the info.
this is an interesting site you gave... and i happen to be interested in a few items :)

Thanks

I know you are probably looking for something cooler than upgrading from one mbox to another, but I'm still on the blue Mbox 2 I've had for years for home use and that won't change until it becomes obsolete. Unless you need awesome pres or DIs on your interface, no point in really going crazy for what it sounds like you need one for.

I've got an NI Audio Kontrol 1 which you can probably get cheaply second hand.
When the "open " protools first came out it wasn't supported so I replaced it with an M-Audio ultra.
However as has now become apparent the ultras on windows have been orphaned by Avid since the sale of consumer interfaces and there has been no driver update for two years or any windows 8 support added. In the meantime NI fixed the drivers on the ATK1 and is supported in windows 8 and works with protools so i'm back using the ATK1

I read that the later NI Komplete USB interfaces had lower quality AD converters than the ATK 1 to improve latency.. I don't know if this is true but I think the recorded quality is excellent on the ATK1.

Presonus Firebox http://www.presonus.com/products/FireBox - probably end of support service. On Win8 64bit I could not fool the driver to believe it is Windows 7 I have not tested it on Win7.

@cdxpat Thank you for reporting NI ATK1 compatibility. Very cheap second hand. Native Instruments seems to be fair about updating drivers. Win8 drivers (beta) avialiable. They claim ATK1 is benefited when connected to USB 3.
