5.1 MKV in Pro Tools?

So basically, I know you can mix 5.1 in Pro Tools HD but not really sure how to go about it.

I have access to a 5.1 studio and I've got a blu-ray film ripped to .MKV format. Will this format be ok or will I need something else?

Any help appreciated.

MKV is the container. It can hold 5.1 audio stream in various different formats. You may need something that first demux audio stream and convert it to readable by PT file format.
