Default Dealing with transients

Hi there.

What's your favorite plugin? I haven't purchased a transient designer/shaper/mangler yet, but now is the time. Tips and thoughts on the subject appreciated.

Thank you.

I still use Audio Assault Transient, the one that used to be free and they replaced for a pro version a while ago. I also have DrumXchanger from Plugin Alliance.

Izotope's Trash. Semi clunky UI but a lot deeper than appears.

I have SPL’s transient designer (used to have the hardware) and Sonnox’s TransMod. Generally favour TransMod. (Or I’ll just use an expander/gate with an eq to build my own which is what they are anyway; in which case it is FabFilter)

Thanks, guys. I prefer to use AAX-DSP plugins, but that's not a "must".

I'm working more and more in the "dance pop" genre, so I'm searching for that extra "bite". And no; I can't quite get what I want from McDSP

Hi Stig,

The Sonnox Envolution is my favorite transient processor out there. Its features and sonics are stellar, and it also is available as a AAX-DSP plug-in. Check out a demo, I suspect you’ll like it.

IHTH.

TransMod and SPL Transient Designer Plus are both HDX-DSP (TransMod you need to get the HDX version)

Waves Trans-X is multiband, that sounds useful.

Transmod was the first Transient Designer I owned

But I gave it up for SPL Transient Designer Plus and the SPL is AAXDSP

The Sonnox version is the only plugin that I didn’t upgrade to HDX. I have the EQ, Inflator, Limiter and the TransMod.

TransMod is probably cleaner and more transparent , but I get quicker results with SPL, and it’s got a Mix knob on it too.

Stiggy,

What makes you feel the need to incorporate a transient designer into your workflow? What about using a compressor?

Asking as someone who has owned a hardware TD-4 and many compressors.
