Forced Win 10 update made a mess

This sounds like the classic "Windows is hogging the interface" problem. If you set windows Sound Properties to use your interface as the "default playback device", Windows will lock out sample rate and buffer settings. Set Windows to use the on-board sound card and that almost always eliminates this issue FWIW, running the very latest Win 10 update here with 2021.3 and no problems.

BTW, Windows Sound Properties and USB Power Management(which we always should disable) will often be reset by a windows update. Something to check after every update, wanted or not.

My Windows system sound device was set to the builtin Realtek sound card. I reinstalled Windows 10 Pro and let it update to 1909 and then locked Windows Update out of existence about 8 ways to Sunday, dug out my Avid Omni (it was in a rack case with several 192s, PITA to get to). reinstalled PT Ultimate 2019.12 (my last version) and right now is all good. Already done most all optimizations but thanks for the tips.

I've been installing sample libraries for two days now with great success except for Air's Structure 2 (full version), Air is real stingy with their downloads, luckily found a "Demo Download" for Strike 2 at Air's website witch allowed me to get the last RAR file I was missing for Strike. When I downloaded their complete 3 I backed all up to several Blu-ray discs and one got cracked. I've got the first 3 RAR files and I think there are 2 still missing. Any help on that would be greatly appreciated!

First remove the Structure Free Plug-In, which came with PT Ultimate 2019.12

Structure 2 (full version) has 5 available Windows Installers:

Please remember for subsequent installations of Pro Tools, Structure Free will destroy Structure 2 (full version), so move Structure 2 to “Plug-Ins (Unused)” or elsewhere. Update Pro Tools, then remove Structure Free and replace it with Structure 2.
