I switched to Pro Tools and I really like it. Can someone help me to punch in record and punch out?
Thank You...

Need more info. What interface? Any hardware control surface connected?

Having said that, you can use automatic punch-in/out. Set Pre-roll and Post-roll, highlight the timeline where you want the new audio and enter Record. Once the Pre-roll plays, record will engage for your new take and will punch out automatically.

Another method is to use a foot-switch and use Quick-Punch recording. Many interfaces have a foot-switch jack on them(most keyboard sustain pedals work here, but get one that is N.O.(Normally Open). If your interface has no jack, I recommend the old Presonus Faderport. These can be found for under $100 on the used market and actually have several nice features for any Pro Tools user(handy transport buttons, a motorized fader for automating volume of any track's automation, quick switching between EDIT and MIX windows....). Check it out(AFAIK, the NEW Faderport left out the window switching).

I have a 3rd Gen. Focusrite Scarlett 2i2. It doesn't appear to have a Foot switch
I have an Alesis VI61 Midid Controller. Can I do quick punch with that?

I don't think you can. Either auto-punch or a Faderport seems your best bet
You might also watch some youtube videos on using the auto-punch feature, and while you're checking that out, look into Loop-Recording(especially with automatic playlists)

Is this for real?

Apple-shift-P to put PT into quick-punch mode

space to play

3 on the numerical keypad to punch in or out

No need for a foot switch
