Default Perfect Hackintosh Build?

A few months ago I was pissed at Avid for not giving us folks a free upgrade for those who purchased PT 10 FULL within the 6 month window. I am still upset with them doing that while Cakewalk and Apple does it.

Anyway I wasn't going to upgrade to PT 11 for a year. I am a retired IT guru and know how apps are buggy when first released. But I felt I was missing something on this machine I have and decided to upgrade to PT 11.

I will say this now, that was the best decision I have ever made to upgrade to PT11. I can't believe how lightning fast it really is. No aax yet in most of my plugs but I decided to get Vienna Ensemble Pro 5..VEP is freaking awesome and works great with PT11.

I read these forums and must say I must have the perfect hackintosh/Mac because I haven't had one problem with PT11 since I upgraded...Maybe it has to do with me wiping my mSata clean and starting from scratch...I dont know but I can say I love it....

A Hackintosh is a custom PC build that you can install OSX on.
It then performs like a Mac, but is a lot cheaper, and you can choose out of a large variety of components.

I know there are some people that are really happy with their Hackintoshes, and I know it's possible to get great stability with one. I'm just scared to try it, because it seems like it would be a time vampire.

There are a billion tutorials to existing builds. Buy exactly those components, and follow the according tutorial. You'll be up and running in a half day, assembly included.
I helped several people build their Hacks, and none of them would ever look back.

Well, with all the bootloaders and whatnot... I think that if things go smoothly, I could do it in a day. But if I ran into a problem, I would have to sink a lot of time into figuring it out... As is the case with any new territory.

I'm at an impasse, since I can't afford a "real" mac, and can't afford to spend much time making a "fake" one. Oh well. I'm glad to hear some folks are making monster hacks that get the job done for cheap.

If you like give me a shout. Maybe we can work something out. Like I said, I helped a bunch of people get their Hackintoshs up and running.
Also did it with some users of this forum via email and Skype. All success-stories so far.
