Default Getting that perfect Analog sound without analog gear

If you ever get a client that say's "hey man, the music doesn't sound analog, I want it to sound like my records" Here's what you do.

Take 1 teaspoon of hydrogen puroxide and insert it into your clients ears. After the inicial shock wears off, he'll be hearing a nice bubbley filled analog sound for at least 5-7 minutes.

Enjoy

Can't be done (referring to the topic of this post- not the peroxide thing, which of course is most doable).

Or, you could get some samples of low-level vinyl static, some hiss, and random turntable noise, and mix them in a bit. Unless he/she's talking about that phat, indescribable feeling when one listens to playback off of a well-calibrated Studer A827, or better yet, something w/ 16 trks and a 2" headstack... Why not just charge the client your studio rates plus the studio rates of the analog studio you will record and mix the sessions in.

Step one: power all gear down
Step two: turn off all lights
Step three: relax and concentrate on your own breathing pattern
Step four: repeat this mantra ... this $1000 computer is capable of reproducing the same quality of audio signal that 60 yrs of dedicated research into analog technology is...
Repeat until you REALLY believe it!!!!!!!
Step six: turn lights back on
Step seven: Record something
Step eight: see step one
